I’ve humbled myself enough to spend 2 months with Roam and this is what I’ve discovered.

In this article I talked about the different programs I use to manage my note taking flow and Zettelkasten.

I also mentioned that Roam Research was an option but that the price point itself was enough to deter me into not giving it a fair shot. That’s when I realized that I really hadn’t been fair to the platform because I hadn’t even tested it before I formed an opinion based on whether or not I’d be willing to pay that much for something each month.

They have a 30-day free trial, so I decided to get into it and play.

What I discovered very much surprised me.

When you start an account, you start with a blank daily note page. Like this:

It’s a little intimidating to start with a blank page and I wasn’t quite sure what to do with it, so I went over to YouTube and started watching videos on how to use Roam. They also have a great help section on the site, but my default is to go to YouTube, so off I went.
