Of all the people to introduce me to a life changing daily practice, it happened to be my mother.

She was going through Julia Cameron’s book The Artist’s Way, and when I described to her how miserable I was in my life at the time, she metaphorically jumped up and down over the phone, insisting I get her book and start doing the 12 weeks of exercises that are laid out in the chapters.

After just having a baby, being at my whits end, burnt out, feeling super fat, and overwhelmed by life in general, I decided to give it a go.

In the first chapter of The Artist’s Way, Julia Cameron describes how Morning Pages came to be, what they are, and how to do them. (We’ll dive into those details here shortly.)
